A Match Indeed!
Emily was asleep when she awoke and wondered what she was doing out in the dark moonless night and not in bed. Meanwhile Lizzie was being pulled into Eric's lair. She recognized the bar in her dream, and the letters she could finally read: Welcome to Club Fang. Eric still held her in his mind, breathing in the smell that made his fangs spring forth except for the fact that she was to lovely to bite. He never felt this way about a mortal, and it was driving him crazy. But also that she risked her life for a friend which no one ever did unless they wanted to die. She was different too. Lizzie saw his fangs shut back inside his beautifully sculpted mouth. His blond hair was like sunshine, like a halo. She stared at this creature of the night long enough to know she was starting to feel something for him. He'd try to harm her friend, but instead of revulsion, there was sympathy. As they entered several men with fangs looked up. "Eric, where you been? You brought a snack?" People replied. "No, she's not for eating!" He yelled. "Now, go back to work, there are customers waiting to be bitten." Lizzie was touched that she wasn't being gnawed on by those tough men wearing chains and splatters of blood. "So, I'm not here to be eaten?" Lizzie spoke up. Eric looked pained as he said, " Not by them, I have to do it, to keep my image." Lizzie said, "Does it hurt?" Eric said to Lizzie with a grin. "If it didn't hurt then where's the fun?!" Lizzie thought then about her earlier sympathy for him. Perhaps she should change her mind. She didn't want to go this way. "Just do it!" She croaked, "Get it over with!" He looked at her carefully. She extended her neck back, exposing her throat. He thought of what it would feel like to be vile, but he couldn't do it. His lips kissed her skin, and then he pulled away. "Losing your nerve", a guy said passing by, "Just go for it. She's looking rather juicy!" He looked forlorn. "Lizzie felt a pang in her still-beating heart for him again. He was struggling with the blood lust so she made it easy. She got closer to him til he grimaced. Then she bit him. As if a light switch was flipped, he grabbed her and sank his fangs into her. "Sorry" he said, when he finished. Lizzie felt a sense of euphoria rush through her. She didn't feel dead. He didn't drink fully. She was disappointed, but brushed it aside. "I guess I'm not as appealing to you." Eric shook his head, " You are, but I just decided I don't want to be a monster to you. You risked your life for your friend, not many would do that. There's something about you too, that I can't name. I never felt this way." She cut him off, and then he kissed her with passion that he'd never felt before with a human. Lizzie felt two holes being punctured into her neck; it felt euphoric! There minds melded into one consciousness. All she knew was him, and all he knew was her life was the most precious thing to him. The past decades were a blur to him. Eric was sorry what he did to her friend, because he knew they were close. He felt the worry in her mind. Soon everything dissolved and the world only consisted of two souls. This vampire had to have one, right?! Yes! I this story I believe he did, indeed! "I love you", Eric murmured, kissing between bites. Lizzie felt light headed so Eric stopped. He'd drunk too much of her. He'd have to be careful in the future, he thought. "I heard that!" Lizzie exclaimed, and whispered, "But I don't mind." Lizzie realized she could never read a vampire's mind before and was amazed. Maybe during certain moments she could turn it off, hopefully! Eric looked at her with wonder. They belonged to each other, and he didn't hide the thought as it reached Lizzie's telepathy. Lizzie smiled wide.
