Winnie was loving the memory of seeing her wolf under the full moon. It surprised her with everything media had taught her about wolves transforming into beasts, but this wolf was not a beast. His eyes were human- looking, and full of compassion. Winnie spent her days looking at the woods behind her house. Running with the pack, being free, chasing prey.... Then she woke from her daydream. She wasn't sure why she thought that. It didn't come from her. Slowly her eyes shifted to the woods. She was being watched. Her wolf came out of the forest. "Hey what were your thoughts doing inside my head?!" I was entertaining you on what being a wolf would be like. Do you want to join us? "Maybe...No, I can't. I couldn't do that to my mother!" She doesn't know about us, does she? "Did you just say us- like you and me-I didn't think you felt that way" she wispered. Oh yes, I do. "I hardly know you!" Well, wolf- human relationships run on a deeper level. Once it imprints..."What, you imprinted on me?!" Not yet, and wolves can't entirely control it. "Well, what if I enjoy humanity? I wish I were human then. Silence suspended between them. "Do you have a name?" I once did...hmmm...I don't recall. It's been quite a long time. Call me Watcher.
"Ok, Watcher, how do you more know me and I know little of you?" You are scared, arn't you? I won't hurt you. My wolves won't hurt you either considering I am alpha. "This is too much", Winnie breathed deeply, " I can't see you again. I'm sorry." She ran to the house, utterly freaked out. Watcher glanced after her. Is this what the humans call "heartbreak", I can't live without this beautiful creature. If I do I'll never be human again and the spell will be unbroken. Why did the Witch doom my chance at happieness? Maybe it's better this way. He silently walked away, hurt that he hadn't found a human that could see past his appearance.
