The-One-Who-Has-No-Name

Somalia took Sara by the hand to the great hall of their castle. "This is where we reside til we return to our rightful place", Somalia said. Sara shook her head, this was all to strange. "Humans call us "aliens"; they make up such clever words that they fool themselves." Somalia laughed, mockingly. Sara didn't laugh. Sara listened as she named all the myths that Sara had heard; mentally making note never to believe it. "How do I redeem your kind?" Somalia looked serious, " Don't you know?! Your joking!" "No", Sara replied. Somalia looked her in the eye, " I am taking you to a our leader. The humans have made you forget who you are. I blame your guardians for keeping you with them for so long." "Who are my guardian's?" Sara said. "Your parents, of coarse." Somalia told her. Somolia explained their leader was He-Who-Has-No-Name. Sara was puzzled, when she was before his house-a small hut. The door opened and a similar person like Somalia with a cat-like head stepped out. He was in white robes, with gold slippers. "I know who you bring to me" a male voice stated. "She is the One". Somalia bowed low before him. She nudged Sara, but he stopped her, "She bows to no one!" Then he looked at her with sea-green eyes, "Come inside!" Inside was a throne that he sat on carefully. A round table with nine swords lay between them. Sara gasped. "These are the nine tribes of our people. Each sword represents a tribe. You are of the 1st order. You have been greatly awaited by all. Welcome home!" Sara said, "Tell me who I am to become."

Sara and the House of Prophecy

Sara was an ordinary girl living in Tampa Florida in her parent's beach house for the new year. The water was nippy but she didn't care. She's swim laps daily and test herself on how far she could swim. Once she was swimming so far that she got really cold, and worse it was starting to snow. She tried to swim back but didn't recognize where she was. She was too far out. She realized she had made a mistake. Her mom always warned her but she didn't listen because she was having so much fun testing herself. In the middle of the ocean she saw nothing. Then an island appeared from nowhere. Seriously, she MUST be hallucinating. But there it was. She clamored through the choppy water and reached a sand bar. She stood up, then as she looked up, there were a flight of stairs. How weird! She took two at a time. They glowed sharply in the stormy clouds. She finally came upon a house in the sky. The doorway opened and a hand grabbed her out of the cold. she blinked. She was in a house for sure. Who lived here?! She thought. A voice sprang out. "Good question, Sara!" Sara looked to the one speaking and gawked. It was a human with the head of a cat. "I'm Somala, Your standing in the House of the Prophecy". "WW-What?" Sara stammered. Somala grinned."Yep, your chosen to redeem our kind so we may live with the humans. They think we're odd because of what we appear to resemble. We are not house cats, but we're not quite human. We came before both. You need to help us take back the planet from it's residents. They're messing it up!" Sara said, "What if I refuse?" Somala said simply, "You can't! Your our kind's redeemer. You have to help us. It's been written down for centuries: a human girl will help us rise to the top of all living beings." Sara didn't know how to tell this creature that she was a result of shrimp tacos and refried beans. This was a dream. It had to be! She blinked but still saw the strange creature pleading with her with big luminous eyes. "I guess I could help. What do I do?"

A Match Indeed!

Emily was asleep when she awoke and wondered what she was doing out in the dark moonless night and not in bed. Meanwhile Lizzie was being pulled into Eric's lair. She recognized the bar in her dream, and the letters she could finally read: Welcome to Club Fang. Eric still held her in his mind, breathing in the smell that made his fangs spring forth except for the fact that she was to lovely to bite. He never felt this way about a mortal, and it was driving him crazy. But also that she risked her life for a friend which no one ever did unless they wanted to die. She was different too. Lizzie saw his fangs shut back inside his beautifully sculpted mouth. His blond hair was like sunshine, like a halo. She stared at this creature of the night long enough to know she was starting to feel something for him. He'd try to harm her friend, but instead of revulsion, there was sympathy. As they entered several men with fangs looked up. "Eric, where you been? You brought a snack?" People replied. "No, she's not for eating!" He yelled. "Now, go back to work, there are customers waiting to be bitten." Lizzie was touched that she wasn't being gnawed on by those tough men wearing chains and splatters of blood. "So, I'm not here to be eaten?" Lizzie spoke up. Eric looked pained as he said, " Not by them, I have to do it, to keep my image." Lizzie said, "Does it hurt?" Eric said to Lizzie with a grin. "If it didn't hurt then where's the fun?!" Lizzie thought then about her earlier sympathy for him. Perhaps she should change her mind. She didn't want to go this way. "Just do it!" She croaked, "Get it over with!" He looked at her carefully. She extended her neck back, exposing her throat. He thought of what it would feel like to be vile, but he couldn't do it. His lips kissed her skin, and then he pulled away. "Losing your nerve", a guy said passing by, "Just go for it. She's looking rather juicy!" He looked forlorn. "Lizzie felt a pang in her still-beating heart for him again. He was struggling with the blood lust so she made it easy. She got closer to him til he grimaced. Then she bit him. As if a light switch was flipped, he grabbed her and sank his fangs into her. "Sorry" he said, when he finished. Lizzie felt a sense of euphoria rush through her. She didn't feel dead. He didn't drink fully. She was disappointed, but brushed it aside. "I guess I'm not as appealing to you." Eric shook his head, " You are, but I just decided I don't want to be a monster to you. You risked your life for your friend, not many would do that. There's something about you too, that I can't name. I never felt this way." She cut him off, and then he kissed her with passion that he'd never felt before with a human. Lizzie felt two holes being punctured into her neck; it felt euphoric! There minds melded into one consciousness. All she knew was him, and all he knew was her life was the most precious thing to him. The past decades were a blur to him. Eric was sorry what he did to her friend, because he knew they were close. He felt the worry in her mind. Soon everything dissolved and the world only consisted of two souls. This vampire had to have one, right?! Yes! I this story I believe he did, indeed! "I love you", Eric murmured, kissing between bites. Lizzie felt light headed so Eric stopped. He'd drunk too much of her. He'd have to be careful in the future, he thought. "I heard that!" Lizzie exclaimed, and whispered, "But I don't mind." Lizzie realized she could never read a vampire's mind before and was amazed. Maybe during certain moments she could turn it off, hopefully! Eric looked at her with wonder. They belonged to each other, and he didn't hide the thought as it reached Lizzie's telepathy. Lizzie smiled wide.

The Game

Lizzie had the strangest dream. She was walking down a dark alley at night, and it was pitch dark. A shadow moved in the fog beneath her feet. A raven pecked at a sign that she couldn't read. It lit up in glowing letters; seeming to be a bar. She recognized Emily's voice inside, and thought it was strange. Then she knew as she got close. Emily's neck was punctured by two small marks still fresh with a red substance. Lizzie immediately knew and it made her sick. She turned to the guy sitting next to her and it was Eric. But he wasn't smiling. His eyes were black, and blazing into Emily's. Then as he leaned forward to get closer to his prey Liz wanted to scream to her best friend to get away from him. But she couldn't move, or hear Lizzie before she was bit.

Lizzie sprang up from her bed and knew where Emily had gone. She had to act fast to save her friend. Meanwhile as Emily got closer to Eris, he spun around just as she hid behind a tall tree. She stopped herself from breathing for the moment but was shaking with fear. He sniffed the air and knew he was being followed. Lizzie had almost caught up with Eric, when she saw him dragging her by the arm. He'd hypnotized her, her legs walked roboticly. Not normal! She sprang out and shoved a long piece of wood from her jacket into his cold un-beating heart. He looked at her and Lizzie  realized she hadn't shoved it in all the way. "Take me! Not her!" Lizzie screamed! A grin came to his lips, and then it disappeared. Lizzie jumped in front of his friend. He didn't like a pretty girl stopping him from feeding off of his prey. Emily slumped to the ground unconscious, but still breathing. Eric pulled the wood out from his chest. He drew in the pretty girl's scent, unlike her friend's. ?Hers was mouth watering. He made a decision to change the game around a little. He'd let the girl's  friend go, since this girl was so much more satisfying. "He move so fast that Lizzie's vision blurred. She struck him only to be lured deeper into his mind. She was paralyzed. Emily waking up screamed. But Eric already wiped her memory clean of everything she witnessed. She slumped back to the ground. Lizzie was mad as hell! He focused on her again and with one look, she was being controlled by his Power. All she could do was follow him. Well at least Emily would be safe, she thought.

Lizzie Meets Eric the Vampire

Once there was a extraordinary women named Elizabeth, although she preferred Lizzie, who was could read minds of everyone she met. She found it hard to make friends when they all thought she was a freak. Her parents didn't understand her rare gift. But they loved her anyways. Her friend Emily thought it was cool what she could do. Lizzie was walking home with her from school one sunny day when they ran into Eric from school. As Lizzie avoided his eyes his whole life story poured into her head like lava. Every memory burned into her retina like she was experiences what she saw. Emily caught her friend as she was about to fall on the cement. Lizzie opened her eyes and saw blue ones looking down at her curiously. "You look like you fell from heaven". Lizzie blushed a deep scarlet. She realized what he was instantly. He'd been around very long; different from a human life span. She could taste his thirst and it was for her. Emily asked,"Are you OK?" Eric still looked on and then shifted his gaze to her friend. He was looking at her with the same hunger, but less than he had for Lizzie. She said," I know what you are", and left as gracelessly as she came. Her head was pounding! she could feel everything he felt, taste what he tasted, and hunger what he desired. She knew enough that he was a vampire and if she didn't stay away from him she'd become one herself. Emily asked, What's wrong? He was totally cute. He wouldn't stop staring at you!" "I think he's not a good person to be around, Em." Lizzie replied. "He's different!" " Oh, it's the mind reading again, isn't it? Did you see something horrible?"  Emily begged of Lizzie. "Yes" she said but when Emily begged for more, she wouldn't say anything. Emily gave up, knowing Lizzie had her reason for not telling certain things. She trusted Lizzie. But part of her was wondering what could be so bad about this boy from their school. When Lizzie took a nap, Emily walked out of the house to find out.

Halloween and the City Part II

As Sara rushed to Time's Square, Lizzie was talking to Matt about the next step in their relationship. They sat at a local pub near the celebration that was to take place. "So, where are we Matt?" She spoke. Matt looked into her eyes and spoke, "I believe we are a couple. Lizzie, I couldn't spend one day without you. I wrote a song, by the way, that I will sing tonight. I hope you like it." They held hands under the table. She knew she was in love with him. Meredith, meanwhile, was at the theater, singing with her amazing voice, when the director yelled "CUT!" she took her break and went to talk to Kevin,"Did I do good?" As he was about to answer, the director told Meredith, "Your FANTASTIC! We want you to be a full time actor, meaning you'll be traveling with us while we do plays around the nation. Everyone cheers for you in our shows. We need you". Meredith didn't know what to think. Kevin was troubled though. He didn't want to lose her. Now, as Sara was running to catch up with Sebastian she felt her heart race. When she finally saw him, he was lip locked with a female pirate. It was some one she didn't know, or recognize. "What?!" Sara shouted over the noise. He looked and saw Sara watching. "We're not together, Sara, Why are you upset." She raged, "I still loved you!" Then she asked, Where's Elaine?" "Oh, her! She's making out with her boyfriend Tim. Why?" "WHY?!" Sara raged, "You were pretty intense with her this morning. I can't believe it! Your a horrible person and I should have never called you my "boyfriend". You played me!" As she was about to leave she said, " By the way your kissing sucks!" As she ran in her Snow White outfit, she chucked an apple in the trash bin on the side of the street. She knew her friends would be there soon, but she had to get out of here. A man stopped her, Alec again, but she ignored him. Alec wished she didn't look so sad. He knew he treated her bad after the breakup. He was mad, but he didn't want to be that person anymore. So he followed her until she disappeared, leaving one red high heal behind. He picked it up and kept going. He knew where she'd be. while Alec trailed on, Sara made a sharp turn and then decided not to head back to the apartment. She wanted somewhere quiet. Alec noticed she was hurt. He was guilty of the pain he caused her and  wished he could take it back. If only he could reverse in time and stop Sebastian from being so stupid and correct his part in wanting them apart. He was jealous but now he wished that Sara was happy no matter who she was with. Sebastian, like him had also been unwise. He thought about her all night and wished he wasn't so playful with other women. What was wrong with him?! He'd hurt some one who could truly see the inside of his soul, beyond the flirting. But what could he do, it seemed all he could do was try to make a change, and hope Sara forgave him. Sara came in late while the girls were asleep. Lizzie crashed on the futon. But she heard Sara enter. Sara explained it all, and left for her room. She saved some of her fairy tale books as a child. She pulled out Snow White. She really felt Sebastian had saved her from her feelings for Alec. She was so depressed when Alec left. Sebastian was the shoulder to cry on, the prince charming for her. But now she wasn't so sure. Maybe she'd gotten it wrong. Maybe she fell for all the wrong reasons. Alec still occupied her mind even when she denied it, and convinced herself she hated him. But did she? She slept late that night. So much for a "happy" halloween!

Halloween And The City Part I

Emily was caught up in the vision of Jordan's lips when a Sara knocked on her door. The vision vanished. Emily got up to answer the door. Sara was in tears. "He dumped me, Em. I don't know what I can do without him. Part of me wants him back but another part wants to punch him." "Oh Sara," Emily went to hug her friend, " I'm so sorry!" "Seriously, Em, he said he's "not feeling it". I think he found some one else. Meredith saw him hugging and kissing another girl in Starbuck's. I feel depressed!" Sara collapsed on Emily's bed. Emily spoke," I think Alec likes you still. He acts mean, but it's because he's hurting without you. I know this takes a while to get over, but I think his feelings never went away. Serious!" "Your right," Sara exclaimed, " He warned me as well! I didn't listen. I thought he was trying to break us up, but he was protecting me. I am so blind!" Sara rushed out and said, "See you later!" She slammed the front door to their apartment so loud that Meredith came out of the kitchen. "Where's she going?" She said. "Maybe, Lizzie's! She left in a rush. That's probably it!" Emily replied. Just then a knock was on the door. Emily jumped up to get it while Meredith was chopping onions and wiping the mascara she applied that was smudged on her face from her lunch date with Kevin earlier. It was Kathleen, their neighbor and friend. "Hey, can I borrow some conditioner? I'm out!" Emily let her in, and went to the bathroom. Meredith said, "Don't look over here! Beware!" Kathleen giggled. "So," when Emily came back, " How's Mittens?" " Good, but he's getting fat! I think he needs to be on a diet. That veterinarian, Mr. Decker is quite handsome. I'm taking him in tomorrow." As they chatted, Sara was making her way to Alec's, when Sebastian crossed the street holding hands with a red headed girl wearing a tank top. She had a belly button ring too. "Elaine! What are you doing?!" "Just chillin', with my new boyfriend!"  She replied, then said, " How about you?" "Sara was about to say something when Alec came up behind her glaring at Elaine in a negative way. "You...." Sara said crossly, "Your using her to break us up, so you can have me to your self. Well I hate you! You might have gotten between us, but you'll never have me." As Sara walked away, she thought of the song, " Gives You Hell", and oh, yes, she'd love to give those people HELL! She looked up when she heard thunder and lightning. she should hurry back. By the time she did, no one was there to let her in, and she lost her key. Just as things couldn't get worse, she saw a rat! EEW! She ran down the fire escape, and collided into something. When she looked up she saw Alec. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" She fumed, "GO AWAY!" " Sara," Alec pleaded, "I was just as surprised as you were. You have no right to be angry at me! You walked away from that party a long time ago, you wouldn't even open the door. I am the victim. I loved you....still do..." He panted  hard as if the air would flow out of his lungs any minute. " You chose that guy over me, and he doesn't even love you." Sara felt like he had slapped her in the face. " Sebastian loved me!" "Well," Alec replied, "Why did he take a fancy to Elaine like that if he loved you? I only put Elaine there to prove a point. He advanced on her, not the other way around. I wanted you to see who he really was. He's not a man that can be tied down. He lied to you and you didn't see it." Then Alec said, Elaine was jealous of you when we were together, but I never saw her that way. I tried, when you ended things, but it was only you I saw. I can't stand flirting with her. There's only one love in my life. That's you.....even if you don't feel that way for me. I'm sorry. But it's true." Sara couldn't think of a word to say, instead, and she didn't know why, but she pulled him close....very close...and kissed him like she never had before. "I was scared you'd pick her because she's pretty, and your parents loved her." He replied, "I don't care what my parents think, and frankly she's actually not that pretty. You are inside and out." Sara closed her eyes to the words she's shot down so long ago. Could she have him the way she used to, or did she mess that up. Night was falling fast, as she sat on the stairs trying to make up her mind about who to trust. She decided to find Sebastian. He'd be dressed up as a pirate at Time's Square. She had to hurry!

Emily's City Romance

Emily woke up that morning not remembering what happened. Then she did: she met a guy. Jordan was totally cool with the "just friends" part. Emily found Sara at the theater that day with Meredith, both working on separate plays. They invited her to a movie last night but she declined. Sara asked, "How did it go last night with...uh...Jordan?" "Good, Sara, he's a nice guy. Too bad when I leave the city we won't be able to communicate very well with the long distance." Sara replied, " You could stay; PLEASE! You'd love it!" "I have a job back home that I enjoy!" Emily said. "True," said Sara, a little blue. "Whats wrong Sara?" Emily asked. "Sebastian hasn't been texting me lately. Maybe your right. Do you think he's seeing other people?" Sara whispered. "Sara, I really don't know, but Kelly could have thought it was someone else like you told me." Emily told Sara. Sara knew something was up with him though. She kept quiet. Soon Meredith came over. " Whats up, y'all? Why didn't you come with us last night, Em? Kevin was there! I took your advice Sara. You were right." Emily saw Kevin stride up behind Meredith and give her shoulders a squeeze. She laughed! Kevin said, "Hey!" Meredith replied by turning around and kissing him on the cheek. He didn't talk for a while. He was surprised and also very happy. "Whats with this city and people falling in love?" Emily shouted! She was tired of telling her friends to tone it down a notch, so she decided to just let them go about their own lives the way they wanted even if it was...well...sorta something you'd normally do in private. She's seen two guys swooning outside her apartment, thinking ahhhhhh, get a room! As she left the theater for some fresh air she bumped into someone. She was apologizing when she saw it was Jordan. " Hey!" he said. She couldn't get over his smile and those green eyes boring into her brown ones. After a while, she said, " I didn't know I'd see you HERE!" "I work here. You could say I'm a playwright." He responded. then he waved to a friend behind Emily. She turned and saw he was waving to a girl with brown curly hair and lots of lip gloss. She felt a stab of  envy for one second. " Sorry," he said, " gotta get moving, can I buy you dinner tonight?" "Sure." Emily uttered, unsure if it was just them too. Turned out that the girl with the glob of lip gloss wasn't there, what a relief! When Jordan showed up at the place he called Emily to meet up later that day, he was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. "Hey!" he said. "Hello", Emily replied. Silence fell. she'd never dated before so how was she to know the rules?! She felt so overdressed. He took her hand, and pulled her along to an alleyway that led to a basketball court. There was a picnic blanket, some candles, a blanket, and a basket of yummies on the court. Emily was one of those people who thought less was more. Perfect! Jordan looked at her, "Is this OK? I know not a lot of girls dig this atmosphere." It's fine," Emily said. Then, I'm not like other girls." He grinned. After a dinner of fried chicken and corn on the cob, they shot a few hoops. Emily totally beat him the first two try's, but let him win the last three. Later they lay on the blanket and looked at the stars. "Who was the girl you waved to, Jordan?" Emily was curious. "Oh, my cousin, Lula. She performs in one of my plays. We're close buds. When I was little she'd read to me; taught me actually, and writing as well." "I love to write" Emily exclaimed! They looked into each others eyes, then something surprising came. It felt good too. That night Emily prayed let him kiss her again.

Emily Arrives In Manhatten

Emily looked at her watch to make sure she didn't miss her train. She was leaving for New York City any minute to see Sara. She didn't miss it, as it arrived precisely on time. She got on, carrying her luggage and the new pink handbag she got from TJ MAX. As  she found her seat, she found someone parked beside her reading a US Weekly magazine. She looked up as Emily sat down. "Hi, I'm Kelly, I believe we've met." Suddenly it all came back, " YES! Kelly, I remember you! We were BFF's in the 2nd grade. What are you doing here?" Kelly beamed with joy, "I am getting married." "WOW," Emily exclaimed, "Where are you living these days?" "I live in Tampa, Florida, but am meeting my fiance' up in Manhattan. He lives there and so am I now," Kelly paused, "How about you?" "Just going to see a friend of mine," Emily stated, "I guess we'll both be in Manhattan. I'm glad I ran into you! Who's your fiance'? " "His name is Seth," she said, flashing the gorgeous diamond on her left ring finger. "That's beautiful! I'd love to meet him sometime," Emily replied. The train was long but gave the two pals a chance to talk more about their lives. As it stopped they realized they had arrived at the train station. They said their goodbyes with promises to visit each other while they were near by. Kelly waved her hand, and a taxi halted in front of her. Sara was picking her up at the station, so she waited til she saw a red convertible. An attractive guy was talking to Sara as Emily stared. The guy leaped out to take Emily's luggage and stow it in the trunk, then opened a side door. Sara quickly introduced Sebastian to Emily. "Nice to meet you," Emily replied, giving his hand a good shake."A friend of Sara's is a friend of mine," he said coolly. While they were driving there was lots of chatter as Sara conversed with Emily and Sebastian at the same time. When they car stopped, they got out and met Meredith on the front stoop of the apartment building. Meredith hugged Emily. "Glad your here!" Meredith was very excited, she hadn't seen Emily in a while. As Emily settled in she realized she was exhausted and crashed on the couch. Later that evening as she awoke she got dressed for dinner. She assumed they'd go out to eat. As they departed, she felt left out as the other girls chatted continuously. Time Square was all lit up at night! Emily felt like she was in a different world than the one she lived in back home. She followed the girls, and soon saw Lizzie waiting for them all. Lizzie squealed when she saw Emily, and they hugged. "WOW! Your here!" Lizzie said. She was buzzing with gossip on the TV show Glee. they entered a well lit room with ornate pictures of Italy on the walls. Emily loved the Gondola sailing though Venice. She'd been there before with Liz with their Italian class in high school. Lizzie tugged Emily along, and they sat in a comfortable booth. The waiter brought their menu's out right away. Emily was impressed. All through out dinner they clinked glasses of wine, and in Emily's case a "Virgin" Pin Colada'. Emily was speechless as Sara told them how she was going to be in Wicked, a play rewritten for the Dreamer's, a theater group for young adults with disabilities. She was happy for Sara, but then Sebastian entered and kissed Sara on the lips. "OK! That's too much PDA!" Emily joked. They didn't listen though; being too engrossed in one another. Emily didn't have a man, but was perfectly happy. She worked at the Special Olympics as an Office Assistant. Her job was all she needed right now. When dinner was over, and Emily was stuffed to the gills with Pasta Alfredo, they left. Lizzie payed for the whole group, even though Emily said she'd pay for her meal. She felt bad when others payed for her. By the way the bill was very expensive. As they left, they headed to do some window shopping before hitting the ice rink. Emily saved her money, and was unstable with on the smooth surface of the ice rink. She fell twice! She decided to head back, when she ran into Kelly, and a young man, who must be Seth. They embraced and she introduced them to her other friends. Kelly, Seth, and her left, and went to get ice cream. Emily welcomed the ice cream since her butt was sore from falling. Kelly asked Emily if she was having fun. Emily said the city was a little new to her, but yeah she was. She told her about Sara and Sebastian. Kelly's mouth formed an O-shape! "Oh NO!" Kelly raised her voice. People stared at them before going back to what they were doing. She whispered, "Sara needs to know the truth." Emily replied, "What is it?" " Well," Kelly heaved a sigh "I was caught up with him in the same way Sara is, he told me he loved me, that he'd never hurt me, and then I walk in on him with some other woman. I've heard similar stories from other people. He's bad news!" Emily was shocked! That night she told Sara, but Sara dismissed it."She's probably talking about someone else. Sebastian loves me." Over the week, Emily started to have fun shopping and sight seeing everything the city had to offer. By Friday, Sara and her went into a local bar. Sara went to the bathroom first. Some one tapped Emily from behind. It was a good looking man in his late 20's. "Hi, beautiful!" "What kind of line is that?!" Emily stated. He continued to flirt with her, until she told him to go away. Right when Sara came out, she stared, and shouted to the young man, "Get away from my friend, ALEC!" Alec tensed up, and said teasingly, "Jealous?" "You wish!" Sara retorted. Sebastian stepped in just then,"Whats up?" Sara snuggled up to him, and looked away, "Nothing, baby! Do you want to leave this place and crash somewhere else." They kissed in front of Emily while Alec was there. Alec pretended disgust, but Emily saw longing in his eyes. He still loved her. Emily felt bad for him, he wasn't trying to be a jerk to Sara. He was hurting. Just then, Lizzie dropped in, and said, "Guys, there's this really good singer playing any minute. Matt is here by the way!" Then she disappeared in the crowd. Emily realized the group had left her. She felt lonely. Alec was still behind her when she turned around. Emily bumped into him, apologizing. He moved away quickly and was working his lines on the next girl. But he stared at her several times. She looked away. Finally, the entertainment started. A guy with blond, spiky hair sung out the most outrageous notes. It was a little loud for her tastes. She wiggled her way through the crowd as someone spilled beer all over her nice top. "Sorry" he apologized. He looked up at her. He had green eyes, and black messy hair. "I'm Jordan",and when she didn't respond, "Are you new here? I haven't seen you around." "Yeah" Emily said catching her breath. "So," he said, "Are you here temporarily?" "Yeah, just visiting a friend," she replied. "Too bad," he said, "Your cute!" Emily blushed. Right then, Meredith found her and said they were going to see a movie. "Go ahead," Emily replied. Meredith didn't need to connect the dots, and nodded, moving away.

Sara's New Job

Sara slept until noon. Her and the girls had really had their share of partying the other night. She danced until she 1:00 PM. Then, Lizzie took her over to her place and they played video games. Meredith fell asleep first, so the two of them started a pillow fight with feathers flying everywhere. So here she was, with a major headache on the futon. She shouldn't have had that Pina' Colada. After that she couldn't resist any more. She realized Liz drew on her face while she slept. As she looked in the mirror she had cat whiskers on each side of her face. She'd get Lizzie back, she promised herself. When she went into Lizzie's room she laughed so hard. Meredith got up, "What?" Sara laughed harder, " I think Lizzie got shaving cream in your hair while you were asleep. It's all over your face." Meredith bolted for the bathroom, " I will get her!" she remarked. She snorted when she laughed. Liz was at work, and left a sticky note on the door that read: Hey guys, I know you want to get back at me, but remember what goes around comes around. I'll know if I see any undergarments in the freezer. Love you both! P.S. Have fun trying to get me back. :-P

Later that day Meredith slipped out to go meet Kevin at the Starbucks. Sara called Sebastian and left a message about if he was interested in hangout after work. She missed him. As she walked to  collect her paycheck she opened the door and saw red roses all over the front desk. Sebastian could get quite crafty, which led to other thoughts that occupied her mind until her cell phone buzzed. " Hi Sara, I got your message. I see Liz posted some interesting pictures on facebook. No worries, they were cute. I love cats." Sara replied, " Yeah, we had fun! She will SO get what she deserves. But other than that, do you have plans tonight?" Hmm..," He thought, "You could come over to my place and I could cook you dinner. By the way, I hope you liked the flowers." Sara said, " I loved them! Thanks so much! You always know how to brighten my day. What would I do without you? " He laughed, "Hopefully, you never will have to answer that!" She giggled until she saw her boss coming. "Gotta go, I'll see you soon," Sara said as she hung  up in a hurry. "Hello Mr. Robin's," Sara said when he came up to her.

Meredith was walking in the park when she saw Sara crying. "What's wrong Sara?" Sara replied, "I got fired from my job." Meredith put a hand on her shoulder, " Sara, you can get another one, did he not like the rose display? I thought it was cute!" Sara threw her hands up, "WHY?!" She sobbed loudly. then she said, "Well, I guess my parents will want me back at home. I came here looking for a job and....I can't lose Sebastian. I don't want to go home." Meredith said firmly, " We are going to get you another job, Sara. Your NOT going home!" Meredith  replied. Sara watched Meredith play Sandy up on the stage where her group was practicing. She loved acting in plays when she was little, and had a immense appreciation for the arts, which inspired her to help out as stage crew. They needed it and were so grateful for the time she put in with them. The director came up before she left asking if she could play a role in another play. Sara was all for it!!
"Really? You want ME? YES!" she exclaimed! The director replied, " It's for Wicked. We are gathering other kids with learning disabilities. I thought you'd be perfect for Glinda. The group you'll be working in is called the Dreamer's." Sara felt like she must be dreaming. She pinched herself, Ow! NOT a dream, clearly. She was beyond excited! "Come tomorrow at noon," the director, Mrs. Lipstock said, joyfully.

Girl's Night Out

Sara woke to the smell of bacon wafting in the air of the apartment she shared with Meredith. Sebastian was talking to Meredith. He jogged over on his morning routine to see Sara and Meredith let him in. He knew Sara was sleeping and didn't want to wake her. As Sara checked her reflection in the mirror she comb her hair free of tangles and brushed her teeth. Then she pulled on a cute outfit from the closet. Dang, she'd have to buy some new shoes! As Sara walked into the kitchen she smiled when she saw Sebastian gazing out the window. She snuck up and pulled him close in a hug. He smelled good. He returned the embrace. As they held each other, Meredith made a noise to clear her throat. "You two need to seriously tone it down. If your that serious you should get married." Sebastian grinned back at Meredith. " OK, Sorry I said anything," Meredith declared, "I just am really busy practicing my lines and I don't need to envision the two of you doing what you do...um." Sara laughed, " I think you need a man, Meredith. You've been single a while, but your so attractive and kind that any guy would be more than lucky."  Meredith smiled, " Thanks Sara, I just miss Scott." Sara understood her well. Alec had been tough to get over. But now she had Sebastian and he was as wonderful as any man could ever be.

Later that day, Sebastian went to work, so Sara followed Meredith to the theater where she practiced with the rest of the group. They were doing Grease. Meredith had the role of Sandy, which worked well for her. She had a lot of lines though. Their group met every Sunday night. Right after they sung Summer Nights, the director called for a break. Sara told Meredith she was doing well. Meredith heaved a sigh as the guy playing Danny passed by. His name was Kevin, and Sara knew Meredith tensed up when he was around. "Meredith, Why don't you talk to him?" Sara had been begging Meredith to go up to him since she started rehearsal. "What if he doesn't like me," Meredith replied," or what if he has a girlfriend!" Sara spoke with compassion, "You'll never know if you don't try. Besides I've seen him look at you a lot. Go for it!" Meredith asked, "Really?" "Sure", Sara responded, "You have nothing to lose." Just then her cell phone buzzed. It was Lizzie, their friend. She practically shouted with joy,"You won't believe what happened on True Blood....Oh my gosh, that vampire Eric is sizzling HOT!!!" Sara said, "I bet he is. Did he and Sookie get together yet?" Lizzie said, "Not yet, but would you meet me for dinner tonight? I have some pretty big news to tell you." Sure," Sara replied, "I'll bring Meredith. Where should we meet?"

They decided on a mexican resteraunt that just opened up nearby. Lizzie was waiting at the booth when they arrived drumming her manicured nails on the table. "So whats the big news?" Sara and Meredith both said together. " Well, I've met some one...," Lizzie started, "His name is....Matthew." Sara aplauded! "WOW, Lizzie!!!!" She exclamed. "Tell me more!" Meredith pried, "Whats he like? Where did you meet?" Lizzie blurted out " He's a singer in a band, and we met last night when the ball dropped for the new year!!!" Lizzie was totally on could nine. Sara never saw her this happy before. "I really like him, guys!" She said seriously. "So with Sebastain and Sara, all we need is to find Meredith a reliable man..." Lizzie started. Suddenly Meredith excused herself from the table and ran out into the street. "Lizzie, maybe you shouldn't have said that. She's sensitive because of losing Scott." Lizzie was puzzled, "But that was years ago!" "I know," Sara replied, " But she's still hurting. I'll talk to her. Order us some Pina' Coloda's, please, for when we get back. And don't make it a Virgin. We're SO getting wasted tonight!" As Sara stepped out she layed a hand on Meredith's shoulder. "Hey, how's things going?" Meredith was crying, " I just can't get over him. what do I do?" Sara felt bad for her friend. "Well, maybe getting back into the dating world would help. He lost you not the the other way around, grilfriend! He should be the one crying, not you!" Meredith sighed, " Your right, your always are. Your and Sebastain are a great couple, you know." Sara hugged Meredith. She said a silent prayer: Please make Meredith smile again. Sara led Meredith back in. Lizzie felt bad, so she decided no  more talk about men. It was a hard thing for her to do, but she wouldn't risk upsetting Meredith again.

Sara's Run-In

Sara pulled herself together and opened the envelope. It was her cousin's handwriting, beautiful and inviting. Lena was always succeeding in everything Sara hadn't. She and her boyfriend Steve moved to Greece two years ago. Now they were getting married. The wedding wasn't until  the first of May, in 2012. Sara was a bit envious that Lena was marrying so young. Lena was 20, while Sara was 24. Sara wondered if Sebastian would propose someday to her. She hoped it wasn't too long because she definitely wanted to tie the knot before she turned 30!

Sara worked long and hard that day. She was frosting a cake for a Bar Mitzvah when Sebastian came and asked her what she was doing tonight. She said nothing much, so he asked if she wanted to go to a party one of his friends were having. She agreed. Sara loved parties especially where you dress up. She hummed along the sidewalk to the dress store after her work shift ended. Suddenly as she entered she sights centered on a pink silk dress. She knew she had to check the price, but when she did her joy dissipated. She couldn't afford it. She checked out other dresses but couldn't find another she liked as much as the pink dress. when  she got home, she fed the little orange tabby cat Meredith had found wandering the streets. Her name was Molly. Sara stroked her smooth fur and peace filled her. She would check and see what she had in her closet. she had collected a lot of dresses since she moved here. She'd surely find one. She decided upon looking that she'd wear her favorite pink blouse and black skirt. Sebastien would love it.

When she was ready the door bell rang and Meredith let Sebastien in. Sara came down the stairs. He looked breathless. Sara was happy too. Upon seeing his eyes she knew this was the man she was meant for. OK, well, she felt the same when she dated Alec, but this was different! Their was a magic sensation that flowed thought her veins in his presence. Sebastian felt it too, she knew it! It was like a they were magnets being drawn closer each time they saw one another. Sebastian extended his arm and they went out the door. Sara pulled herself closer to him. It was very cold outside since Winter would be there very soon. He looked dashing! Sebastian wore a long black coat white buttoned shirt and collar underneath. She grabbed him by the tie spinning him around and kissed him for a long while. When they pulled away both were grinning. She longed to feel the muscles under his shirt but had lot of self control. For now! As they entered a small door to a charming pub around the corner she heard music blasting along the walls. She shot out to the dance floor pulling Sebastian with her. They shook to the beat. Finally, a slow song came on a few martini's later. Sebastian pulled her to him as they imitated a classic waltz. She leaned her head to his chest. She could stay there forever. She told Sebastian she was having a fun time. "Your the only one for me, Sara. I couldn't have brought a lovelier woman to this party, I swear." Sara knew he spoke true. She saw it in his face. Suddenly someone grabbed the mike, and started singing the lyrics in a way only some one would who'd been drinking. He babbled were quite a while, until he was dragged off the stage. There were many couples in the audience. " No more martini's," Sebastian joked. As he went to get her some water, a pair of familiar eyes appeared. " Having a nice time with your date?" Alec said flatly. "Of coarse," Sara said coldly, " Where's yours?" Alec chuckled, " I came alone." He had been the drunk belting out the lyrics. She hurried to Sebastien. "We need to go!" He looked at her and asked, " Whats wrong?" She nodded toward the drunken guy. " OK, I'll get your coat." Alec walked by, "Hey I can get that!" Sebastian said, "she's my girlfriend, dude, why don't you hook up with someone else that isn't taken." Without warning Alec jabbed Sebastian in the jaw. Sara looked on in horror. "STOP IT!" She shouted. Several people looked at the scene. Sebastian was bleeding from the mouth. Sara knelt by him, " Are you OK?" Elaine pushed her way through the crowd, and Sara saw her pull Alec back, "Don't do this!" Alec ignored her. Sara loathed Elaine, and said, "You!" Elaine looked Sara up and down darkly. "Well, Well, having fun?" She was being sarcastic and Sara didn't like it one bit! Sara slapped her across the face. She looked shocked as she spilled her her cocktail down her white dress. O boy! She was not going to forget that! Sara started to apologize when Elaine held up her palm and left the building. Sara knew she shouldn't have gotten to her level. She felt bad. As she hustled Sebastian out, Alec laughed. She ignored him, and kept walking.

She lay Sebastian on the couch carfully, wiping the blood off his face. "It's OK now, don't listen to that fool. Your better than him. I wish I could say the same for myself." Sebastian nodded, " She deserved it. She was rude to you, Sara. She started it by the way. My love for you is always here," Sebastian said patting his heart. Sara said, "Same here." She got in her bed that night and said a prayer of forgiveness. She didn't want anything to come back to her for her behavior. She knew it was wrong, and promised she'd handle it better next time.

Sara and the City

Sara stared at the wall trying to find sleep, but just not being able to. Sebastian had taken her with him to go whale watching. They'd been together 3 months. That was her longest relationship ever. She never had time in her brain for Alec because Sebastian occupied it 24/7. She never saw him anymore or thought she did on the sidewalk. As she stared at the New York Times with a warm donut in her hand, she felt like she'd never been so happy. As she sat in Times Square she lifted her head to see the snow falling from the sky. The snowflakes melted on her tongue. She whirled around until a set of hands caught her. As she spun around she whispered Sebastian's name only t find out it wasn't him. It was Alec. She pulled away from him immediately. "Sara, can we talk about the guy your dating," he asked. "NO!" Sara said, then adding, My life is none of your business anymore!" Alec looked hurt. She didn't care. She was the one hurt first. She'd seen him drinking coffee with Elaine when Sebastian and herself were staring their budding romance. He had moved on, and so had she.  He could make all the excuses that he wanted. She wasn't coming back to him. Not now, not ever. She ran quickly away from him and pushed her way through the crowd. He called her name a few times, but she pretended not to hear. She finally lost him when she ran straight into Sebastian's arms. He felt so warm on this cold morning. "I love you too, sweety," as he kissed her neck, then her chin, and finally her lips. What a wonderful sensation. He made her feel normal, and when she was around him no one stared. She was like everyone else around him. She wanted that feeling her whole life. " I think we should go somewhere," she said in his ear, " Somewhere only we can be." He got her hint and dragged her to a side alley. They smooched some more, until she was giddy with love. Later she walked into his apartment, tip toeing and petting the cat, Henry. Then she came alive when she saw the Christmas tree she helped set up. There was one single ornament with her name on it; heart shaped. It glittered pink. She hugged him more tightly. They sat on the couch together, her hands on his chest. What a perfect way to spend the day!

After their kisses had been spent, she reapplied her lip gloss. She fluffed her hair, and sat in front of the TV. They were watching football, when Sebastian brought out two mugs of hot cocoa. He stared at Sara in awe. He was beyond lucky to have her in his life. He was glad it was just him she was crazy about and not some one else. She loved him, he saw that plain and clear, but sometimes he wondered why she loved him. He had grown up with rich parents who didn't care for him. His parents left him to himself alot, and he wasn't the type to have alot of friends due to wealth. He had one friend once, but she died. Her name was Lola, and she had heart problems at a very young age. He always thought she'd be the one, but God had other plans for her. Sometimes it angered him. He tended to feel lonely, until Sara came into his life at least. If he lost her he had nothing. He and Sara curled up on the sofa together and telling stories until he fell asleep. She looked at his face; so peaceful and innocent. she fell asleep too, and lay there the whole night.

They woke up together staring into each other's eyes. He fixed scrambled eggs for her before she left. Sara noticed Meredith had kept the light on for her last night. she saw two blinking lights on the machine. One was her parents whom she didn't talk to for a while. The other was from Alec. He wanted to talk at the coffee shop downtown. She deleted his message. She had Sebastian. He left her. What was there to talk about? True she had once loved him, but it wasn't enough for the both of them. She opened up her mail and and gasped. The letter flopped out of her hands and hit the floor.

Sara Finds New Love

Sara sat on the chair at her desk writing Alec a letter of apology. She stuffed it into the envelope and stamped it. It felt light in her hands. She knew she lost the right to have  him in her life. When her mom came in she stuffed it under her pillow. Her mom addressed her that she needed to get ready for work. As she did her daily routine, she checked herself in the mirror. She'd make it though this road bump, she knew she would. At work, she was frosting cupcakes, when her boss wanted to see her in his office. She sat in the chair opposite from him. " Your a hard worker", he said, " That's why your being sent to another location for now." Sara's jaw dropped, "Where?" He heaved a breath, " New York!" She was delighted since she'd always wanted to see the City that intrigued her imagination. This was GREAT! She thanked her boss, and clocked out. She called her parents to tell them the news. They were overjoyed. H"er mother picked her up to go shopping for what she would wear. She couldn't wait!

On the day she was to get on the plane, she shook with anxiety. Alec would be there. Oh no! she'd done well hiding her feelings, until now. As the plane lifted off the ground she saw her parents waving from the terminal. Goodbye! Soon she would be landing at the JFK airport. She opened her purse for tissues. This was beyond comprehension. Her roommate she was staying with was her good friend, Meredith. Emily wished her luck the other day with tears streaming down her eyes. They promised to write to each other. Amber wasn't good communicating how she felt, but she said she really was going to miss her friend. Sara knew she was leaving her home behind. It would always be home for her.

As she strode up to pick up her luggage once they landed, Sara realized that she forgot her Wicked CD. She loved it so much. Well, she could always see the play on Broadway if she saved her money. She knew it would cost a lot. But seeing in in real life was pretty cool! As she was being driven to Meredith's apartment where she was staying, she was amazed by all the lights on Time Square. It was like a carnival. She thought about how Glinda would compare the Manhattan to the Emerald City. Maybe, things would be really nice living here. when she arrived, Meredith showed her her room, and Sara, being exhausted, completely crashed. She woke in the middle of the night from a dream she'd been having. Alec was in that dream. They'd been kayaking and when she fell in he caught her. She felt safe in the dream. But now she worried she wasn't over him yet. They probably would never see each other anyways. It's a big city!

The next day was interesting. She met her boss who was nice, but he had a tendency to talk too much. She was on her third cake when something outside the shop caught her eye. A tall boy, with dreads passed by eyeing her. He wouldn't stop. She heard the bells chime when he opened the door. "Your new," he said, " I'm Sebastian. I am picking up a cake for my Grandmother. She's turning 100 years old today." She went in the back and brought out the cake. "That'll be...thirty dollars, sir," she said on her best manners. He handed her money and she gave him the appropriate change back. He watched her work while she tried to tune him out. He was looking at her latest creation with awe. "So, do you have a boyfriend, Sara," he replied reading her name on her ID card. It was neatly pinned onto her pink blouse."Well, I guess I did, but not anymore," she said honestly. "I don't either," he whispered, "Last woman I dated cheated on me with my best friend. He gave a weak laugh. Silence was revolving around them. She barely knew this boy, but she felt like they were already on good terms. He blurted out, "Do you want to have dinner sometime?" Sara hesitated, " Uh sure, that would be nice. Just don't turn out to be a axe murderer," and then she laughed. so did he. His laughter sounded amusing. Right at that moment, another customer came in, "Sara!" She looked up, and her heart sank. Alec was standing there. She ignored him as if he was an illusion. "So, Sebastian, where do you want to meet?" Alec stared between Sara and Sebastian. He left after that. Secretly, Sara wished he'd hadn't. But she was glad to have Sebastian there to break the tension. She couldn't deal with Alec yet; not now. What was he even doing in here?! She took Sebastian's phone number, as he told her where to meet up and when. As he left with the cake he winked at her. He was  handsome, she'd give him that.

They met that night at the Serendipity Hotel's restaurant. It was a fabulous dinner. He payed for her and was the perfect gentlemen. Afterwards they went ice skating, where she fell a few times. But she was having a blast. So was he. At the end of their date he walked her to Meredith's. They were quiet the whole time in the taxi. At the door he said goodnight, and before she could protest he kissed her on the cheek, saying he had a good time. When Sara was inside she couldn't resist looking out the window as he walked back to the taxi. When she woke in the morning, Meredith said she was going to the theater to rehearse for a play she got cast in. Sara ate eggs and toast. She remembered how her dad used to make it for her, and suddenly missed his cooking. She decided she'd call them later on. As she was walking to work, Sebastian came up and surprised her. "Hello beautiful!" She smiled. He was fun to be around. He made her really happy. She had had another dream about Alec, and she didn't understand it. He touched her hand and she didn't hesitate. It fit so well in hers. A warm tingle flowed up her arm. She squeezed his fingers in the bitter cold. when she went in to work her boss looked at her strange. She didn't know why either. After work Meredith took her to lunch. They talked about a lot, including her new romance. She didn't blush for the first time. She was content filling her friend in on the details. " Did he kiss you?" She was eager to know what went down last night. "Not on the lips, but then it was our first date," Sara said, "As FRIENDS!" She added as Meredith gave her a look. Meredith asked her if she still missed Alec. Sara said, " A little, but not as much." Meredith grinned, "Your falling for Sebastian, I know it!" Sara couldn't lie. Maybe she was. She didn't think about it much until when Meredith mentioned it.

That night Sebastian rented a movie as they watched it while Meredith was away. She couldn't stop looking at his face. His lips looked inviting when he talked. She didn't realize that he was leaning towards her, until she felt it. His kiss was warm, and everything she expected. She felt like she was on cloud nine when his arms curled around her. When he left she realized she never once thought of Alec. It was official. She was head over heels for Sebastian, and she liked the way she felt with him more than anything. She wanted him so bad. At least she'd see him again. Hopefully tomorrow would come soon.

Sara Has To Let Go

Sara woke up early for a start. Alec was taking her to a a picnic where he works. She HAD to find something to where that he hadn't seen her in!!! She told her dad but he was busy at his restaurant, and when she asked her mom she told Sara that she was catering for a wedding. This was her brother getting married, and while she was happy for him she wanted to be happy herself. It made her sad that he was younger and already settling down. She begged her brother to help her find an outfit but it wasn't going to happen. He told her she had tons of clothes in her closet to wear and didn't see the importance of needing something new. When she retreated to her room she saw a nice sundress on her bed, attached was the note: Dear Sara, I think this will work. Love, Mom.  She knew that was supposed to be a Christmas gift they had picked out, but she was determined to look nice for her boyfriend. As she tried it on like they had in the dressing room before, she felt unworthy of him. She fretted over her waistline for the longest time. She had to cut back on the sweets. When she was sure she look just right she stepped out to see Alec talking to her dad. He glanced at her top to bottom and grinned in a way that made her heart melt. She walked over to him and told him she was ready. He replied by saying " Your gorgeous, Sara." Her dad looked over at them and wished them a good time.  As soon as they were in the car, he pulled out of the driveway and onto the road.

When they arrived Sara didn't see many people. Alec said they were early, and when questioning him, he silenced her with a kiss on the lips. When he pulled back she had the look on her face that she wanted more but was satisfied for the moment. What's he thinking in his head? Did I kiss well? She pondered until the door opened for her and he let her out. More people came eventually, and soon they were mingling with the other employees Alec worked with. They were so nice to her, but Sara caught a few stares. She brushed it away, but it brought her back to a younger time when no one would speak to her at school. The workers had the same gaze in their eyes like they thought she was too different from them. She excised herself to the bathroom, and burst into tears. How could Alec want her?! He was so good looking that others made flirty comments to him, and he barely spoke to her. Was he planning to break up after all they'd been through?! Should she break up with him first. Just thinking that sent another wave of sadness coursing through her. She couldn't do that!!! She loved him!!! She thought about what she should do when she came out of the bathroom. She wanted to run out and just sink into her bed at home. But she decided she would just act like nothing was happening until this was over. She knew she should talk to Alec, but she didn't know how to say what was on her mind. When she did come out after wiping her face of smeared makeup her mother helped her put on she couldn't find him. Where did he go? She asked around until she saw him talking to a group of people outside. He caught her gaze but she looked down feeling embarrassed. She said she was hungry and was going to go back to the food bar. Then thinking better of herself she whispered, " Can I talk to you?" He said he would but continued talking to the group about a project their company was working on. She didn't understand why he was so distant. She walked away. She almost spilled punch on his employer coming back in, which she apologized for. "So your the girlfriend Alec keeps talking about. Nice to finally see you in flesh!," and then she quietly said, " Alec always speaks well of you." She shook Sara's hand firmly, and was about to talk, when someone came running up to her, and shouted, "YOU!" "Me?!," Sara responded." The person who confronted her had long wavy red hair, a heart shaped-face, and hazel eyes. Her name was Elaine. Alec seemed to have deep respect for her. She spoke with a poisonous attitude, "How could you do this?!" "What," Sara replied, "What is wrong?" Elaine looked her in the eye, "He won't accept the promotion we've offered him, because he doesn't want to lose you." Sara was scared of her stare. She was angry, and raged, "He should be mine, by the way! He loved me first!" Sara felt like she'd been slapped across the face. He didn't tell her. She looked at Elaine who had her hands on her hips, and ran. She didn't know where she was going; away from here for starters!!! She realized she ended up in her backyard tree house. She climbed slowly and sat on a stool to cry. Emily dropped by. "Sara, why so sad?" Sara recounted the whole story as Emily listened carefully trying not to interrupt. "So," Emily said slowly, "You believe Elaine, and you really think that he didn't take this job offer means it's because of you. Maybe there's another reason." Sara cried out, "It's not fair, I thought we would be together, I'm messing up his life, Emily." Emily looked concerned, " No, couldn't be!" Sara heard footsteps and hid inside the tree house pulling Emily with her. She knew it was him but was too afraid to admit why she left, and what would come next...a breakup? she didn't want it, but she didn't like holding him back. "Sara!" He called. No answer. "Whats happened? Do you not like me? I know what Elaine said, and it's true but not like you think." Sara still couldn't bear seeing him, especially with her red and puffy eyes. She slid farther to the back of the tree house, as Emily looked at her. Emily mouthed her one word, "No." Emily didn't want to see Sara lose Alec. Emily knew she'd regret her decision. But she knew Sara wasn't ready to talk to him. As the footsteps retreated, Emily look through the window, and saw his back towards the tree house, shoulders slumped. She felt sad for Sara, and Alec too. She climbed down the ladder, as Sara followed behind her. Sara felt hollow inside. That night she felt her anger for him seep into her dreams. Why didn't he tell her he had loved before?! And of all people, that witch! Was it over between them. Then she felt sad. How had they gotten here?! She yearned to see him, but she just couldn't be brave.

Next morning Sara checked her cell; no messages. Then she looked up her email, and saw nothing recent. She looked at Alec's facebook briefly. She looked at his relationship status and saw he hadn't broken it off yet. Then she saw Elaine on his friends list and clicked on her photo. It was a picture of her and Alec grinning. Sara thought she be sick. There was a message on her wall. It was from Alec, and read: Can you come over so we can chat? Her heart sunk. For a second she was believed Alec's words to her in the tree house yesterday. Now she was beyond furious. She went to fill her coffee mug. No coffee, thanks dad! She walked back in her room, and planted herself in front of her TV. She put in the movie, Confessions of a Shopaholic, but immediately switched it for The Ring. No romance for her to watch; just blood and guts. Her mom arrived saying Alec was outside waiting for her to answer the door. She ignored that comment, and then, her mother switched off the TV! "MOM!" she yelled. "Sara," her mother started, "What the HELL is going on?!" She was so silent at first, then Sara confessed. Her mother listened patiently, " If you let go of him, you know he will find someone else, don't let the book close, Sara. You two have something special." Sara mulled this over, and started to go to the door. She opened it and saw Alec with his back to her. "Whats up?" She commented. He turned to look at her with red bloodshot eyes, " I'd like to know the same thing!" His anger turned into admiration as he looked at her and heaved a huge breath. Sara owed him the truth. "Well, Elaine said you two had dated before, and she told me that you declined the promotion; that it was my fault! I am not holding you back, Alec. If you are being promoted then TAKE IT!" Alec stared at her, eyes wide, as he said, " I didn't take it because it involved me moving to Manhattan, New York. I am not going to be so far from you, or my family." Sara said, "Well take it, Alec. It could mean success for your business corporation." " You want me to leave?! Sara, I can't do that. It's not just about not being with you. I'm scared to travel." Alec looked sad. Sara replied, " Well, If it were me I'd take this offer, I'd work out the long distance relationship, and learn to cope with it, with everything. What are you scared of?" "That," Alec stated, "You'll find somebody else while I'm gone. Don't deny that this could pull us apart. I wish Elaine had said nothing to you, until I was ready to tell you." Sara replied, " And when was that, ALEC?!" He almost swore, but held it back, saying, "As soon as I could get away from everyone yesterday." "You avoided me,", Sara spoke, "You made me feel that you were pushing me away. "Well," Alec replied, " It's not easy when your smitten with someone as much as I am!" Sara realized what he was saying, and felt sorry for questioning their relationship. She knew this was hard for him, and she'd made it worse by doing a disappearing act on him the other day. She needed time to think. " Alec, I got to go." As soon as she closed the door she regretted it. She opened the door again and he was gone, much to her horror. well, now she'd done it?! She'd never see him again. She slammed the door, only to catch her father's attention. He overheard them and was silent. She decided if he was to go, than she needed to move on. It was just so hard! How could that happen when she was crazy for him. She called his cell, but he didn't pick up. GREAT! Now he really is gone! She decided she needed to let him do this. Maybe their paths would cross again in the future. But for now, she needed to take care of her heart before it broke. She needed to find a way to live without him for now, without hurting her feelings. She's always love him, she knew that. Why was life so hard?!

Alec Talks About His Past

Sara and Alec had been going out for 1 month. All the time they spent together was magical! She started thinking of her life married to Alec. Would it change what was between them right now? Or maybe their love would grow stronger....maybe. She was scared to think that far. There was always the possibility couples would change their minds and ask for a divorce. That terrified her! How could she go through that?! She was starting to think just staying in the present was better than anything the future would hold. She prayed: God, I really hope he's the One, and if we ever get married someday, let it last. If we're not meant for marriage I want things to be as they are now; peacefully happy and content with one another. Then she said out loud, "Alec, when you marry some one would you want to have kids with them? Just wondering. I mean you say you love me, and dream of being with me, but I was wondering what that life would hold." Alec looked into her eyes and drew a deep breath, "I'm not sure I want kids. Do you want kids?" Sara looked him in the face and replied, "I love kids, Alec, but I am not planning on being a mother. I've thought about how nice it would be, but it's also very emotional too. I couldn't have that kind of stress. The fact that they could also have downs syndrome would make me sad. I've endured alot. I wouldn't wish that on anyone." She rested her head on his shoulder. He drew another breath, " If you want to ever have kids, I think that they'd be lucky to have a mother like you. But I don't want it to pressure you. I'd be OK to adopt. I heard theres lots of children without families that need help. I was adopted. I don't know my real parents."  Sara gasped, " Oh my, I didn't realize that. What was it like for you?" "Well," Alec started, "I was passed around alot when I was little. Some families couldn't deal with me, especially when they learned of my learning disabilities. But I am in the right spot now. The family that takes care of me now are better coping with me and the challenges I face. I love them." Sara  shed a tear. He brushed it away," Don't feel bad, I'm as happy as ever right now. I found you, and your all I want. In fact if we never have kids, I'd be fine with that." His mouth moved to hers, as they kissed under the sunset streaming through the windows of his house. When his parents came home he and Sara helped make them dinner. Afterwards, they played video games on his Wii. She beat him twice, until he started catching up. That's when his mom came in, and Sara realized she didn't look like Alec. How could she have not noticed. I guess she never thought about it, and it made her feel as if she should have been more aware. Alec smiled and said, "I hope she doesn't have to leave yet." " Well, son, it's getting late," she replied warmly. He said, "OK, mom!" The fact that he called this woman, his mother, was different to her now. She knew he was at peace with what happened, and that he really wasn't sad at all about his past. I guess you don't have to have the same DNA to be called a "family". Maybe, adopting would be better if she ever decided on having a child. Maybe it would help the world a lot more than she realized. Alec had a happy grin on his face. He had her heart even if things didn't last forever. She's never forget him. She hoped though that he was the One, but maybe life was more than finding your soul mate.  She thought the best thing was she'd made everlasting memories with him, and nothing could erase that. She was happy, even when he kissed her goodbye, and his mom drove him home. She waved goodbye when she was dropped off, and ran inside with so much more understanding on her face. She prayed to God that night and said " thankyou" for bringing him to the right point in his life where he accepted his past. She also thanked God, that he brought her into her life. Knowing him was a blessing. She was glad thier paths had crossed.

Sara's Fear

Sara was walking back towards her house after kayaking in the river. The water was cold, and she wished Alec was there to fight away the chill for her. He loved her hugs the best. She felt safe with him. s she opened the door, she heard a familiar voice talking in her ear. "Sara," it whispered. She turned around and their was her boyfriend with a big grin spread across his face. " Don't scare me again!" she yelled, then silently she said, " I love you!" The moment it was out she thought: Oh no, what have I done, should I have said that yet?! What if he's not ready to know how I feel for him. She panicked thinking, he'd leave her. She couldn't bear the thought running around in her head. " I'm sorry," Sara said. Alec frowned, "Don't feel sorry for admitting your feelings, Sara. Don't ever feel sorry!" She sighed. Was he going to tell her how he felt. Waiting was misery! She looked scared for the answer. He kissed her on her brow. "I love you too," Alec said, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear. She felt better after that. They watched a movie he brought over, not remembering the plot when it ended. They were gazing across the couch at each other with awe. Her mom broke the silence when she walked by, " Alec, Do you have to be home soon, or do you want to stay a bit longer?" Sara wished her mom hadn't seen their intense non-verbal communication. " I think my mom wouldn't mind staying an extra hour, do you?" Alec blushed. "No of coarse not, Alec, we like having you around, but not as much as Sara!" Her mom burst into a fit of laughter. OK, now Sara was mortified! " Mom!" Sara said, calling out to her," Why don't you check on Dad, I think he's outside washing the car." She nodded and left them alone. "Alec, what do you see in me?" He breathed heavily, saying, " I see a fun-loving, smart, pretty, and one-of-a-kind girl that I love." Then he said, " I want to come over tomorrow. Is that OK? Maybe we can go to the park and watch the ducks. My father always took me there, before he passed away. I wish he could have met you." Sara nodded, " That would be great, Alec. I'm sorry you miss him. I know how you feel. I lost my grandmother and it hurts me still." Alec pulled her close and  held her tight for a few moments. She thought she could hear his heart beating in his chest. THUMP...THUMP...THUMP...

The next day Alec didn't show which was odd behavior on his part. The night before had been so sweet just being in his presence. Every time had actually. She almost dialed his number, but ended it, knowing he'd be the one to call her. She missed him, still. By lunch time he hadn't left her any messages. She was definitely worried. Her mom asked her, "Is everything alright?" Sara didn't answer; she didn't know. Around dinner time a phone call came through from Alec's mom, not Alec. He had been in a car accident on the way, and was in the hospital. Sara asked how he was doing, and if she could go see him. His mom said visitors weren't allowed right now. Sara's mom saw the look on her face, and took the phone from her, nodding at the news his mom was telling her. She was quiet when she hung up. Sara was in her room. She repeated, "If he wasn't coming to see me, this wouldn't have happened. Maybe it would have been better had I not told him I loved him. He wouldn't have been in a hurry." Sara's mom replied to that by saying, " It's no one's fault Sara. Things like this can happen to anyone at anytime. Life is like that. But I can assure you his mom said he's OK. When he got hit by the driver in the other car, he hit his head. It was a mild concussion. You'll be able to see him tomorrow. He'll heal fast from what the doctors told his mom, Sara." "But he still got hurt!" Sara was worried, and her mom couldn't get her to relax. That night she barely slept. The next day when she walked into his hospital room, he was awake. There was a bandage on his forehead, and stitches on his upper lip. He looked overjoyed and pained to see her, since smiling was hard for him at the moment. He got out, " I I  I dreamt about you last night." Sara replied, "What was the dream about?" "In the dream we were in a meadow and you were running towards me. You looked beautiful with your long hair in the breeze. When you reached me you had a ring on your finger. It was a diamond. My finger had a simple gold band. I think we were married, Sara." He looked fond on remembering it. Alec pushed her hair out of her eyes," I want to be married to you someday when the time is right". Sara replied, " I couldn't love anyone as much as I love you." She took his face in her hands and asked, " Are you OK?" "Yes", he said, "I want to get out of here and go somewhere with you, but the nurses say I have to stay one more day". Sara said, "As long as your healing, that is OK. Do you want to go to the state fair when you get out. It's this weekend." " I would love to," he said, "If I get to spend time with you, it's a blessing". A nurse came in after that to check in on him. She measured his blood pressure, and listened to his heart with a stethoscope. "It's a miracle nothing worse happened, that was a pretty bad accident. I think you have an angel on you side, Alec." Alec grinned, "She's my angel; she's all I want in this life". Sara teared up when he said this. The nurse smiled at her. Her name was Liz. Thats what her name tag said in bold letters. As Sara left she vowed she'd come back when he was discharged the next day. With that, she was thankful that he'd been spared. God wasn't going to let her lose  him. He had yet more time to spend with her. But she had to savor every moment with him. He was hers, and she was his. Death could not seperate them right now, and maybe never would. She prayed to the Lord for him when she got home. She hugged her pillow and imagined what their next meeting would be like. She ended up having a dream that night. In it she and him were holding hands, and he was pushing her on a swing, as she looked up and saw a rainbow above them. It made her happy. He was the "One" for her; always!

Sara's Falls In Love

Sara was walking to Emily's house one fine day, as a song came into her head. She sung out loud as she had an invisible audience, pretending to strum on a guitar she so wished for...."I got my sights set on you.." Suddenly she was snapped out of her fantasy as she bumped into a handsome young boy on the sidewalk too."I'm so sorry", as her eyes locked and his, and likewise for him. " It's..okay.Your voice is beautiful!"
He replied. His blue eyes were like the ocean, holding a secret or two as he watched her. "Do you live nearby?" Sara wasn't used to attention from the opposite sex like this. She had guy friends, but never someone who made her feel a certain way she hadn't felt before. Her heart skipped a beat, he was....She lost her trail of thought. "What did you say?" She asked. He calming said as he did before, " Do you live nearby?" "Oh, yes!" She blushed! "Do you?" "I just moved here," was all he said. Then, "I think we may be neighbors." She felt her heart pound again. What was this feeling she felt? Later that night she asked her mom, " How did you meet Dad?" Caught off guard, she replied, "Sara, is there a boy you like?" "I don't know,"she answered. "Well, girlie, sounds like you do. I know that look in your eyes. It's the same from when your father and I first met." Her mom was very casual the way she talked to her one and only daughter. Kevin talked more to her husband more than her. That's how it went with young boys. She was so blessed to have, Sara. She couldn't express what having a daughter meant to her. " Sara", she said, " I think we should talk. Is this the boy who just moved here or someone you've known?" Sara paused, " He said he just moved here, I didn't catch his name." " Oh the Robinson's boy, Alec, yeah, he just finished college as you have. He wants to be a video game designer. Very charming, my daughter! Good choice!" Her mom teased. " Hey, that's not fair, mom!" Sara said. " We just met, I don't know him that well yet." Her mother laughed, " Well, I think you should go see him tomorrow. Tell me what else he's into," her mother said again, cackling! Sara threw a pillow at her mother! "Oh, stop!" she said laughing too. " Well, goodnight, sleep well!" Her mom kissed her and left. Sara wondered through sleep about this boy she just met, and if he would feel the same way once she got to know him more. She tossed and turned, finally nestling into her blanket, smiling big.

The next day, she went to his house with home-made cupcakes from her job at the Cupcake Factory. She thought they could talk and get to know one another.  Maybe he'd be the one she's marry! Then she scolded herself for thinking that since she didn't know him at all.  Why was he making her feel so giddy? did she already have a crush on him. She shook her head side to side to shake the thought from her mind. She was just going to get to know him, that's all! When she reached the door, he came out before she could ring the doorbell. "Hey," he said, "I saw you coming!" "These are for you, I thought we could talk about where you moved  from," Sara replied quickly, then paused and asked, " Where did you live before you came here?" He sat on the porch swing, inviting her to join him, " Well, I moved here from New York City, where I attended college. I want to design video games. I'm looking for a business that could hire me. But enough of me, what about you?"  "Well, I'm Sara, Alec, that is your name right?" He nodded, and she continued, I attended college at VCU. I'm done now. I think I want to be a spokesperson for people with disabilities." He smiled at her, saying, "I think that's wonderful!" Then, he continued, " I have OCD. It's a disorder I struggled with through many years. But taking the right medicine, I finally can control it." She was instantly fascinated! "Whats it like having OCD?" He hesitated and then said, "Well, we are compulsed to do things when something doesn't feel right, to make it go away, like a ritual, you could call it. But it's hard to stop. Normally, it goes on for hours. But I've got mine mastered for the moment. It's true that it comes to haunt me once and awhile, but I'm a stronger person than I was."  Sara, had enormous empathy for Alec, "Well, I've had Downs Syndrome since I was born.  It's hard when people do or say things behind my back. They avoid me alot. It's hurts, but I'm just like them. I'm no different. I don't even know why I'm telling you all this." She looked down. He brought her chin up with his hands, " It's OK, Sara, you don't have to worry that I'll judge you unfairly.Your beautiful, you know that. When I saw you yesterday, I didn't look at you like those other kids did. I saw you as some one the Lord has blessed and someone I would really like to get to know better." Sara was speechless at his words. She never met someone who accepted her so openly when they met one another. He made her feel like she could tell him anything, and he's still have deep admiration for her. He leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. Suddenly, Emily walked up, interrupting their conversation. She was silent as she watched what went on between them."Sorry, I didn't mean to spy on you two, I was just going to ask Sara if she wanted to go bowling. Do you want to come too? Any friend of Sara's is a friend of mine!"  " Yes, I would, I'm Alec," he said shaking her hand. " Emily!" she exclaimed. " Well, nice to meet you," Alec remarked. Emily smiled shyly. As soon as Sara and her were alone, Emily whispered, " He's cute, are you dating?" "I just met him," Sara said, "But...I like him very much!" Emily listened to all the details of their conversation."Sara, I know what it's like for him to have OCD. I battled it myself. He sounds like a good guy for you!" " Thanks, Em!" She said, "I hope you find a guy that is good for you as well." "Well", Emily said, "I'm not sure there's someone out there for me." "What?!" Sara exclaimed, " Sure, There is! Your a wonderful person, any guy would be lucky to have you!" Emily smiled, " Sara, I hope your right!" " I know I'm right, Em", she acknowledged, "Your so kind, and caring. Anyone would love you!" "Same for you," Emily remarked, "I think Alec really likes you, by the way!" " Oh," Sara said, " We'll have to see, then," Sara said excitedly. Just then it was her turn to bowl, and Alec came by and dropped next to Emily,"So, you known Sara very long?" " Many years, Alec, by the way call me Em, everyone does!" "Em, I really like your friend, alot. What should I do for her?" He asked shyly. "Well, just be yourself," she said, "I think you'll find it easy to impress her." With that, Emily got up  to bowl, as Sara came to sit down beside him. He held her hand tightly, while saying, " I really like you Sara, even if we did just meet". "I like you too," She said, " What are you doing tomorrow?" "I'm not doing anything, but I'd love to hangout with you. Your not like others I met, I feel I can express myself with you, easily. Maybe we could go see a movie together. Afterwards, I'd like to meet your parents." She felt as though the world was spinning, as she rested her head on his shoulder. "That would be perfect!"

Your Perfect As You Are

Sara was going through the mail on the kitchen counter, when she found a bright pink envelope. She opened it and read the first line: TV REPLACEMENT FOR HANNAH MONTANA. She squealed with joy!!! Miley Cyrus was an alcoholic unfortunately and was requested to go to rehab immediately. Without a replacement the show would be canceled. Sara knew that just wasn't going to happen! The auditions were that weekend. As soon as she told her mom and dad, they arranged to drive Sara to the spot where the auditions were taking place. there was a long line, and Sara feared they might give the part to someone else. When it was her turn she was given a script to read. She got through most of it by heart. At the end she stumbled and blushed; clearly embarrassed. They said they'd call her over the weekend if she got the part. So, she called Emily and Amber, and told them. They were ecstatic! " What will you do if they call saying you are the next Hannah Montana? Will you have to move far away? Will we see you ofton?" Emily asked, worryingly. Amber felt the same, but remained silent. Sara said she didn't know yet. Then she thought that Emily had a point. She didn't want to leave her family and friends. But she wanted the role so bad and felt if she didn't get it she'd cry.

Meanwhile, she continued her week working at the Cupcake Factory, day and night. It was the only thing to get her mind off of waiting. She didn't like to wait, she wanted to know things in advance. So this was a challenge. On Saturday, she got the call she was expecting. she jumped up and down, OMG, She was the next Hannah Montana!!! She told her mom and nearly fainted with relief. Then worry lines creased on her mother's forehead. " What's wrong?" Sara asked. " Well," her mom stated, "Your father and I would have to move away from our home in Richmond, VA. The set is located in Orange County, California. We just can't make that adjustment right now, honey." Sara frowned. She didn't like what she heard. As soon as she could, she left the living room and slammed the door to her room. She wept for hours. What would the producer's think when she gave them the bad news, that she wasn't the next Hannah Montana. They'd give the part to some one else. She's never be famous!

Next morning she didn't come out of her room. When her mom came in their was a note on  her bed:
Dear Mom,
I'm sorry but I have to take this job. It's my destiny. I'm not coming back for awhile. I have enough savings for transportation. I'll come back and visit when I have an opening in my schedule.
Love,
Sara
XOXO

As Sara boarded her flight she found her seat and looked across the horizon. Her parents would understand that she was doing what she had to do. They knew this was important to her. She wouldn't let this opportunity slip away. She couldn't!

Meanwhile her parents were worrying frantically! She couldn't live on her own yet, and if this was a scam she wouldn't know what to do, they thought. She's get ripped off and be stranded by herself. They called the police to search the flight. Sara pulled her hair up into a baseball cap as an officer passed by her seat. She looked at the floor until the coast was clear. Then she sighed with relief. She knew they'd do this, but she was getting to that audition no matter what!

When she got off the flight in Arizona, and boarded another one, she felt so far from home. She didn't realize it would feel this way. She was alone. But it was worth it; she knew it was; it had to be! When the flight  ended and she arrived in Orange County, she got off the plane. She realized she was out of cash. So much for her savings! She walked a long time before she realized she didn't know where she was supposed to be. She tried asking around but it didn't lead to where her destination was. She sat down on the steps to a public library. This was confusing, and for once she considered that she might have made a mistake. What was she to do now?! As she silently shed a few tears, a lady came up to her. "What's wrong, little girl?" She replied back, "I am lost! I was supposed to be the next Hannah Montana, but I don't know where to go. I don't have money to call my parents either. I've never felt more alone in my life." Luckily the lady asked her where she lived and her phone number back home. She looked it up in the phone book, and finally contacted Sara's parents. They were so relived, that they arranged a flight where Sara was. Sara slept over at the kind lady's house. When she heard a knock at the door, her parents greeted the lady, and ran into the bedroom where Sara sat awake. Sara's mom shouted, "OMG, Sara, don't do this again. Did you know how worried we were? And you could have gotten into a lot of danger. Get in the car; we're going back home immediately!"

On the way back, Sara was very silent. They returned the rental car, and then jumped on the nearest flight home. She felt guilty. She knew she wouldn't be going to the set of the TV show, and though it made her sad, she was grateful nothing bad had happened when she set out to come here. It could have been a lot worse. When she was finally home, she ran inside and hugged one of the pillows on the couch. Her mother came and sat with her. "It's OK, you don't have to be Hannah Montana to be my rock star, because I love you, Sara. I'm not saying your getting off easy by scaring us to death, but I know why you did it. You don't need fame to be noticed." Sara looked into her mother's eyes, "I don't? But how can I prove to the world that I'm more than a girl with down syndrome?" Her mother put her arm around her and said, "Just be yourself. You are special the way you are. Hannah's got nothing on you, baby! Your better than her because you are who you claim to be. Your honest, and caring, and all the things she'll never be. You don't need a double life like on TV to have it all. You already do have everything." She lifted her eyes and said, " Really?" Her mother gave her a big hug and kiss, "Really!"

The End of the Battle

Winnie woke to her mother talking to the doctors about her condition. She looked everywhere. "Where's.....No....Wh Wha Watcher?", she gasped in shock at the memory of thier love and now...... He's gone. Her heart  couldn't bear it, the thought of him drifting in the sea, motionless, and that she should be with him right now. She WAS with him. It was so beautiful being inside his soul. There was so much light, and goodness, as he was in hers too. What did it feel like for him? I need him now. She sat up, and instantly her mother was by her side. "Winnie, Oh Winnie, my poor baby, are you ok?" "Yes" she confirmed, then, "Noooo!" She screamed for hours and cried silently onto her pillow. Her mother thought she was in shock of the events in the woods. "What happened in there Winnie?", he mother questioned. " I...don't know." She replied. How could she explain without them? Sara arrived, " Your awake? I'm so glad?" Winnie asked, "Where's the Witch?" "Dead", Sara said sheepishly, "Well, the wolves finally got her. I was there." Sara spoke. Winnie replied mournfully, "So is Watcher.......oh Sara, I have to tell you!" As she recounted all that went on to her closest friend, Sara took Winnie's hand and held it tightly. "I'm so sorry, Winnie. Is there anything I can do for you?" she asked kindly. "No." Winnie uttered. Then thinking it through, she said" But we could searched the spot near the cliff.  We will go when they let me out. I feel drawn there. He should be buried." Like my heart.

The next day, as Winnie begged her mom to let her out, her mom firmly denied her of her wish. The wound impacted in her chest was sore, but healing. Her heart was good, and had a strong beat, as the doctor said. But her mother told her she was in no condition to go out after what happened. Sara wove a tale that someone hunting the wolves had shot Winnie instead, and run off, leaving her in the woods. Sara had caught up to her, quick. It was Walker that had saved her, really. But she could never tell anyone about him. Every time she thought of him she teared up. Sara sat by her bed reading stories to Winnie. Currently she read "The Hobbit". It was both of they're favorite's. "Sara, I loved him so much, more than I realized." Winnie confessed. her friend said, " I know", secretly thinking of the blue-eyed wolf; Tracker.

One late evening Sara was with Winnie when her parents were going out to dinner. They'd be out a while with friends. Winnie got up and walked with Sara out the door. Sara put one arm around her to steady her. As they were on the rocky beach , they saw no sign of a body. So they went back, and Sara kept Winnie smiling. But in secret, Winnie wanted to be alone and cry. Watcher, if your out there why can't I find you. I lost you forever.

Watcher opened his eyes.
He was human, lying in a cove. Some one had a fire burning and was cooking something wonderful. "Winnie? You there?" But she wasn't. It was an indian woman. " My name is Eve, I'm here to help you get back on your feet. Don't walk!" She commanded. "You were almost dead when I found you. You must have hit your head on a sharp rock. But I cleaned you up. Do you remember who you are?," she said softly. He spoke," I am Watcher, and I am grateful to you, I need to see my beloved."  "Ahhhh", Eve let out, " So you have a lover!" She looked at him, "Where do you think she is?" "I -I don't know," He stammered, "but I sense she needs me." Eve looked at him with kind eyes. She served him some stew she'd made and Watcher swallowed graciously. He noticed she was clutching her belly which was very round. Her eyes had a glow in them. " I'm with child, sadly though my husband died of pneomonia." He wished there was something he could say to her, but sensing this she waved him off. she grinned. He thought of Winnie and knew he must find her quickly.

Winifred was taking a daily walk with when she saw a flash of green in the woods. Her heart pounded. But she told herself she was imagining it. She thought of flinging herself of the cliff, but she knew she couldn't do that to her parents no matter how hard the pain felt these days. Her wound was feeling better. Her mother helped dress her bandages earlier. Then she saw the flash of green again. And again! As soon as she turned she saw Watcher standing there. " I thought you died. I blamed myself." She said. "Winnie, I would never leave you." He muttered. Then he said beaming, "the curse is gone." Winnie laughed so hard she could have cried as she rushed to his side. She hugged him. He planted a kiss on her lips. " My parents are gone, but they'll be back soon. What will I tell them of you?" He put a finger to her lips,"We'll figure it out". With that he leaned in for another kiss. And another! Winnie delighted in his affection towards her. It made her giddy with delight when they brought thier lips together. She couldn't feel the wound at all. Her heart felt at home, like it had been on a very short vacation and returned.

Love Lives

Sara checked Winnie's vitals as she lay in the hospital. Two men in who wore silver badges asking Sara again  and again of how Winnie got in this condition. They weren't buying her story either, they knew something was amiss. Sara was exhausted trying to come up with a cover story as Winnie's parents wept. Winnie was comatose. Whatever the Witch did was beyond the doctors healing skills, and Sara didn't know if her friend would wake again. At least she was alive, I mean, Watcher did do that for her friend. Just watching him perform what he had done was a miracle. She should have been the one stabbed. Winnie shouldn't be in a coma! It wasn't right or fair. She planned on finding Watcher and telling him of the news. But there was no trace.

Secretly she hid her dad's shot gun inside her jacket for protection. A step forward proved no help, until she heard a sound behind the bushes. She drew her dad's gun and suddenly was relived to find a wolf. But this one's eyes were blue, not the emerald green of Watcher's. " Where's Watcher?" she asked. The wolf stared intently. Tracker knew this was the one who followed Winnie into the woods. He's been watching her, sometimes with hunger and others with, admiration. What a fine human! She was in dangerous territory but it didn't bother her. Another sound revealed something else was lurking in the woods. The Witch was watching Sara. She thought it was brave of her to venture so far, but foolish. She decided to sneak up behind her and....Wham! The Witch was hit by Tracker as his teeth bit into her shoulder. She threw him aside, targeting the girl.  "So why are you out here, you could die." "You don't care, look what you did to my friend!!! She's in a coma.", Sara spat. " She did that to herself, Sara", she replied wickedly. Sara raised the shot gun  high before her as it exploded in her hand and a fireball singed her fingers. Ow! Sara felt intense pain, but wasn't going to give up the fight. Sara said through her teeth, " Fix my friend! Winnie did nothing to you but protecting the wolf she loved. You need to stop this curse. Watcher adores her, I know he does!" "Why did he leave, why didn't he see her to her house, why did he give up!?" The Witch said hissed. "You lie!," Sara said, "He didn't want to leave her, I just know it! You pushed him away from her side with your tricks. You snake!"

Tracker woke with a headache. He saw the Witch circling Sara, she was conducting a memory spell. He couldn't let it happen. Watcher left him in charge to protect the pack, and those whom he cared for. He decided to lunge at the Witch again! A few more times, he was bloodied and weary. He stood one last time, and howled. Sara heard thumping feet race toward her, and around her the wolves trotted to the rescue. They all attacked the Witch, one pinning her down. "Tell me how to bring her back!" Sara hollered. " Or you will die!"

Winnie had the strangest dream in her coma. She was with Sara, looking down on the scene. She reached out to her friend, but her hand went through her as if Winnie were a ghost. She was scared that the Witch would hurt Sara. But she new she couldn't help her friend like this. Her spirit traveled in search of her wolf. She came to a clearing where he in human form he was looking down a deep cliff. "Watcher, listen to me! I'm OK, don't do this!" Watcher looked around and saw nothing. His heart was sad. This was his end now. He never would be with Winnie in the ways he wished. He had to rid the world of him. Maybe then she'd be free from the harm she was in. It was because of him! He knew it! " Watcher, I love you, I always will, and killing yourself....won't...help..us!!!! He heard her voice but didn't know how this was happening. If she died he couldn't live with it. What if she was dead? Winnie put her transparent hand on his shoulder, as he pulled back. Something....touched his soul the way nothing could. He knew he couldn't jump. He couldn't! "Winnie, where are you? I know it's you!" Winnie walked into him until they were one body as if it was natural.  Suddenly all of their past memories collided. They knew everything about each other. Each knew the other was in love with them, finally, and accepted what would happen next. They had too! As one they jumped together, falling, not just in each other's mind, sharing their last thoughts. "I don't regret a thing. All this led me to you." Winnie spoke quickly. Watcher agreed, "I love you, Winnie!" "I know," Winnie replied, "I always have". They plunged into the sea immediately. Their souls were fused to each other in the green abyss like nothing could separate them, not even death.

Winnie's Confession

Winnie gazed at the wolf standing in front of her. Winnie, being truthful, I used to be a human like you. In fact, I was your age when the Witch cast her spell on me. I wasn't a good person. She knew that, and she wanted me to suffer eternity as this creature I am today. She saw my heart was wicked. I begged her to change me back. I even lied that I had changed. But she was smart and didn't fall for my cunning. I spent centuries watching people die, people I knew, It was horrific! I've tried killing myself and even went mad when my actions failed. I began to lose hope. But you came, and though your not the first I fell for, I recalled the Witch's words. She wants me to find love, and only by doing that I can be human again. But there's a limit. By next spring if I fail to be loved in return I will lose my life, everything, and there's no getting humanity back. But I am ready to die because I know no one could love me. Don't feel sorry for me. I'm not worth it.

Winnie steadied herself. Suddenly, Sara walked from behind the trees. Winnie didn't notice her til now. Sara said " I love you, Watcher. Take me!" Winnie's jaw dropped. How long had she been standing there. Sara said again, "I will devote my life to you, Watcher." Watcher shifted uneasily. " Watcher, don't be scared of me." She reached him, and as he looked at her he saw her eyes held truth. Winnie backed away, scared for her friend, but then stepped forward. "Sara, What are you doing?" She held my gaze, " What you should have done." Winnie knew she was sacrificed herself for her best friend. But she couldn't quite get her feelings for Watcher of her tongue. Like something was stopping her. This wasn't Sara! Her eyes were different. Suddenly, behind her the real Sara said, "Run, it's a trap. She's the Witch!" Winnie was tugged by her friend to flee. Watcher watched the impostor with disgust. What are you doing here? How'd you find me? " I just followed your scent. Still the same person, eh?" I've changed but if your going to kill me, do it now, don't allow the girls to watch. This surprised the Witch. But she stepped forward as Winnie said "Wait!" She moved closer. " I l-l-love him, you can't do this." Startled by her confession, the Witch held a look of surprise. "Well, Well, a young girl being foolish...", though Winnie cut her off, " I always knew I was different. But this is my purpose. I know now. My purpose is to love. Even if the spell doesn't break, I'll always admire Watcher for who he is now. His soul cannot die, it is human. You cannot take that from him." Watcher was surprised as well. Was she speaking true? He wasn't sure. The Witch clasped her hands together and cackled, " What a performance! You think you love him, but your not sure, dear girl. Think of what he's done. He's not perfect."  "Your wrong!" she yelled, " No body's perfect." She was silenced for a long time and said, " If you love him would you die in his place?" Winnie replied, " I would die in the place of someone I loved". The Witch looked at her seriously. She did the same. They were in silent communication. Watcher watched, and then the Witch turned to face him, " You've been lucky. But you have lived long, don't you want to rest with your family." I would. It's been too long. I love this human girl, but she hardly knows me. It's not fair to expect her to love me in a way that would mean she'd be giving up all she had. And for what? For me? I'm a monster, your right. She doesn't know what she's saying. Once again the Witch said nothing. Kill me! She moved towards him and as she did Winnie leaped in front of them as she pierced the knife into her skin. She fell down. Sara screamed, "No! Winnie don't die!" Watcher felt horrible as if he was pierced as well but worse. Guilt seized him as he realized what she's done to herself for what...someone who couldn't be saved. The Witch vanished! Watcher growled. He could smell the poison dagger buried deep in her chest. Hopefully it wasn't her heart! He looked up as the full moon shown bright and clear.  Then a strange thing appeared to Sara.

There in the wolfs tracks was a man. He bent down and clinged to Winnie. He listened for a pulse but it was faint. He bent down to give her mouth to mouth several times. When he thought she was dying, he took the dagger out and stabbed himself, letting the blood run. He collapsed but then realized once again he could not die. Curse the Witch! Sara saw her gasp, sucking in air finally, as her eyes fluttered, but shut again. Sara, carried her to her parents, as they called the doctor. They both traded worried glances. Watcher was behind the trees, making sure they got her inside. Out of the cold. That was a long night for him, the longest in fact he's ever endured. She sacrificed her life for him, and he was mad at her. He knew their feelings for each other was growing. But he couldn't drag her into this mess. So he decided to leave. It was a hard thing, but he knew she was safer without him. I love you!
